  • How do I get a brochure?

    Call 509-548-2000 to request a brochure.

  • Where do I pick up my Will Call tickets?

    Will Call tickets may be picked up at the Box Office during regular business hours (11:30 – 5:30) or at the gate of the show for which they were purchased, one hour before show time.  Please bring identification when picking up your tickets.

  • Do you have a waiting list for sold out shows?

    No, we don’t maintain a waiting list because all sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges on tickets once they are purchased. Will Call tickets are prepaid and will be held at the gate for their purchasers.

  • Is there Taxi or shuttle service from lodging to the theater?

    Leavenworth Shuttle and Taxi, based in Leavenworth, is available to shuttle you to any theater event.  Cost varies depending on the number of people and your lodging location.  Check their website or call them at 509.548.7433.

  • Can I bring the kids?

    Infants and children under 5 are not admitted; however older children are welcome. Elementary school age children especially love The Sound of Music and many families make the show an annual family vacation highlight!

    Leavenworth Summer Theater strives to provide a distraction-free environment in which patrons can enjoy quality theatrical experiences. Due to the intimacy of the theater sites and in an effort to provide a positive experience for all ticket buyers, the theater does not admit infants or children under five years.

  • When do the gates open at the theater?

    Gates for the summer shows open one hour before show time.

  • Is seating reserved?

    All shows are reserved seating.

  • What about parking?

    Free parking is available at both locations.

  • How far is it from Seattle?

    It’s usually a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive depending on traffic. You should allow at least an extra hour in case of road construction delays. Late arrivals are seated in the least disruptive location at each venue, at the back of the theater. To avoid any problem, come early and enjoy the Leavenworth area, downtown shopping and restaurants.

  • Where can I find lodging?

  • May I donate my tickets?

    Yes. If you cannot attend your performance and do not wish to give your tickets to friends or family, your tickets may be donated. Simply return your tickets in person or by mail to the Ticket Office before the scheduled performance and the box office will give you a donation letter.

  • How far a walk is it to each site from the parking area?

    It is 2+ blocks from the parking area to the seating area at both the Ski Hill and Hatchery Park.  At the Ski Hill, there is a (moderate) uphill walk to the seating area.  There is a wheelchair-accessible van available for those who find it difficult to walk uphill.  Please allow at least 20 minutes to park and walk to the theater in all locations.  Latecomers will be seated at the back of the theater, not in their reserved seats.

  • Could we bring our own picnic dinner and eat it before the show?

    There are no picnic facilities at the Ski Hill.  There are a couple of picnic tables at Hatchery Park; however, picnickers are discouraged, as picnic food may attract wasps near the seating area. We encourage you to picnic at one of the fine parks in Leavenworth or patronize one of the local eating establishments before coming to the Theater.

  • What kind of handicapped access is there?

    There is handicapped parking at both sites.  At the Hatchery, the walk from the parking area to the seating area is paved and flat.  At the Ski Hill, there is a wheelchair accessible van to take patrons from the entry area to the drop-off point near the seating area, from which there is an additional short walk (or roll) to the handicapped access walkway and the amphitheater.

  • Are there chairs at the theater?

    All seating is reserved, and chairs are in place at all venues.  Please do not bring your own chairs; there will be no place for them.  You may bring blankets for warmth but there is no standing room area or sitting in the aisles.

  • Tell me a brief history of the theater.

    Leavenworth Summer Theater began as the vision of John and Susan Wagner and Bill Weis in 1994. That opening season was hampered by devastating fires in the Leavenworth area in addition to the normal first year struggles, and the theater suffered severe financial losses. The Wagners decided to give it one more try in the summer of 1995 with a production of The Sound of Music. A great cast, a terrific outdoor location, and the natural compatibility of the show with Leavenworth’s Bavarian theme created a sensationally successful production. Today, Leavenworth Summer Theater is the largest theater between Seattle and Spokane, with more than 20,000 people expected for this year’s productions.

  • Can we have our wedding at the Ski Hill?

    Our contract with the U.S. Forest Service allows for LST performances and one fundraising concert annually by the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club at the Ski Hill amphitheater.  No other use is permitted.
